ÔPIA Cabernet Rosé is a crisp, off-dry, Halal-certified alcohol-free rosé from Maison Pierre Chavin in France. Like all ÔPIA wines, it is made without fermentation: crafted from unfermented organic Chardonnay grape juice with a unique infusion of organic yeast, grape seeds, and carefully selected botanicals that develop the wine's structure and character without the fermentation process. The result is a product that is completely alcohol-free at every stage of production and contains no sulphites.

It pours a clear, pale pink and delivers a light, refreshing aromatic profile of red berries, subtle white blossom, and a hint of citrus. The palate is off-dry and clean, with a crisp finish and an easy-drinking character that makes it a versatile and inclusive option. Certified Organic, Vegan, and Halal, it may contain natural deposits as a result of the production method.

Serve at 8 to 10°C. It pairs well with summer salads, grilled vegetables, Mediterranean dishes, and as an aperitif. Its sulphite-free, unfermented composition makes it one of the most considerate options we carry for those with specific dietary requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions About Alcohol-Free Rose Wine

Common questions about alcohol-free rose wine: how it is made, how it tastes, and how to enjoy it.

What does alcohol-free rose wine taste like?

Alcohol-free rose has the same fresh, fruit-forward character as standard rose, with strawberry, raspberry, watermelon and floral notes depending on the grape and origin. The colour, aromatics and refreshing acidity are preserved through quality de-alcoholisation. The main difference is the absence of the warming sensation that ethanol provides and a slightly lighter body. A good alcohol-free rose is genuinely enjoyable rather than a compromise.

Is alcohol-free rose sweet or dry?

It depends on the producer and style. Just as with alcoholic rose, styles range from bone dry, as with Provence-inspired wines, to lightly off-dry, as with Mediterranean or New World styles. Check the individual product description and tasting notes for the style profile of each bottle. We include detailed descriptions so you know what to expect before you buy.

What is de-alcoholisation and how is the alcohol removed?

De-alcoholisation is the process of removing ethanol from fully fermented wine. The most common method used by premium producers is vacuum distillation, where the wine is gently heated under low pressure, which lowers the boiling point of ethanol so it evaporates without damaging the aromas or polyphenols. Some producers also use spinning cone technology or reverse osmosis, each with slightly different effects on flavour. The result is a wine that has gone through full fermentation but has had the alcohol extracted afterwards.

Is alcohol-free rose wine good for you?

Alcohol-free rose retains the natural polyphenols found in red grape skins, which give rose its colour and antioxidant properties, without the health risks of alcohol. At around 15 to 25 kcal per 100ml, it is significantly lower in calories than standard rose (around 70 to 80 kcal per 100ml). It is not a health product, but it is a genuinely lighter option for those who enjoy the rose experience without the alcohol.

Can I use alcohol-free rose in cooking?

Yes. Alcohol-free rose works well in lighter dishes such as seafood, chicken, salad dressings and delicate sauces. The fruit character and acidity behave similarly to alcoholic rose in cooking. For a simple pan sauce, vinaigrette or marinade, it performs comparably. Avoid using it in heavy slow-cooked dishes where a robust red would be more appropriate.

What temperature should I serve alcohol-free rose wine?

Alcohol-free rose is best served chilled, between 9 and 12 degrees Celsius, similar to white wine. Without the warmth of alcohol, serving at room temperature can make the wine taste flat or overly sweet. A 30-minute chill in the fridge before serving is usually sufficient if the bottle has been stored at room temperature.

How long does alcohol-free rose wine last after opening?

Once opened, reseal and refrigerate. Consume within 3 to 5 days. Without ethanol, alcohol-free rose oxidises more quickly than its alcoholic equivalent. A vacuum wine stopper or inert gas preserver will significantly extend the life of an opened bottle and keep the fruit character fresh for longer.

Is this suitable if I am pregnant or driving?

This wine is certified 0.0% ABV, meaning it contains no measurable alcohol and is suitable for drivers. If you are pregnant, we recommend consulting your midwife or doctor before consuming any dealcoholised product, as guidance varies individually.

Do your products contain sulphites?

It depends on the product. Some of our wines do contain sulphur dioxide (sulphites) as a preservative, declared as an allergen on the label and well within EU and UK legal limits. However, a number of the products we stock are sulphite-free. Always check the individual product label or description to confirm.

How is alcohol-free rose different from rose grape juice?

Alcohol-free rose wine is made by fermenting grapes in the same way as conventional rose, developing its full aromatic complexity, acidity and structure. The alcohol is then removed afterwards. Rose grape juice is simply pressed or blended fruit that has never fermented. The fermentation process creates the secondary aromas and structural character that define wine. The two are fundamentally different products.
